Mürren is located at the foot of the Schilthorn, the panorama restaurant of which was the breathtaking location for the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” from the 1960s. Some of the actors were in the Hotel Eiger during filming and of course there is a 007 suite named after the famous spy.
The hotel opened in 1892 and has been in the family for four generations. Lots of additions and renovations have brought it up to date with an impressive indoor heated pool that offers mountain views if you specify the length. There is also a lovely terrace with the most beautiful view of the Alps.

Two seminar rooms are available for conferences in the Eiger panorama restaurant, which are equipped with technical equipment for presentations and banquets for up to 130 people.

The Eiger Saal is the main restaurant with a wonderful mountain view. The food is locally sourced and inventive. It is based on Swiss and Italian traditions. If you take half board, you will have four or five courses for dinner with attentive service. A cozy touch is that either Susanna or Adrian, the hotel owners, go round the tables every evening asking about the food and your stay.
The breakfast is a rich buffet with fresh croissants, Swiss muesli, mountain cheese, bacon and eggs, salmon, yoghurt and a glass of Prosecco – a great alpine start to the day.
The Eiger Stübli is an intimate place where a selection of the best wines and local dishes are served.
The Tächi Bar is adjacent to the Eiger Hall and there is a lounge and an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy afternoon tea and sundowners.

The hotel is opposite the Mürrenbahn train station, which connects Mürren with Lauterbrunnen in the valley. The Schilthornbahn in Mürren takes you to the Schilthorn Piz Gloria and its panorama restaurant, the location of the James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. There are many signposted hiking trails that start right outside the hotel. In winter, 52 km of slopes in the Mürren-Schilthorn area are suitable for skiers and snowboarders. Other activities include ice skating, curling and tobogganing.
