Check out all of the locations in this video: Lighthouses at the entrance to beautiful bays and natural harbors have prevented ships from running aground for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, many of them have become obsolete and have been replaced by more effective on-board navigation systems. The remaining ones are largely automated and have more powerful lights and lenses than the beacons used in the past. Due to their visibility, lighthouses are often very distinctive landmarks: their shapes and colors stand out from the surrounding landscapes. As a result, they offer some fantastic photo opportunities and are usually in spectacular locations along rugged coastlines or overlooking wild seas.
